Porsche Cayenne Turbo debuts with insane performance specs

M - We had already heard that Porsche would debut the redesigned 2019 Cayenne at the 2017 International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt, but it only offered details on the Cayenne and Cayenne S.

The new Cayenne Turbo is powered by Porsche's new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8, which makes the same 550 hp and 567 lb-ft of torque it does in the Panamera Turbo.

Greater power, greater torque: biturbo eight-cylinder with 550 hp At the heart of the Cayenne Turbo is the new four-litre V8 engine with twin turbocharging. The Cayenne Turbo shoots to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds (if it wears the optional Sport Chrono Package), whereas the Panamera Turbo does the deed in 3.6 seconds in base form, or 3.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package. The 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 in the Cayenne S produces just 440 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, with a 4.6-second sprint and a top speed of 161 miles per hour.

Helping keep the new Cayenne stuck to the ground is a new three-chamber air suspension setup. The system has six selectable height levels and five driving modes configured for on- and off-road performance. Want even more performance?

Both models are available with rear-wheel steering, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (active roll stabilization via electronically controlled front and rear sway bars), and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.

Other important bits include an adaptive roof spoiler for active aerodynamics that improves fuel efficiency and increases downforce on the rear axle. There also newly standard 18-way sport seats, as well.

UNSC imposes tough sanctions on North Korea
The resolution also calls for a ban on North Korea's textile exports - its largest export after coal and other minerals in 2016. Han also said North Korea refuses to recognize the resolution of the Security Council because it has "no legal basis".

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has been priced from €138,850 in Europe including delivery. Rear-wheel steering is now optional, and Porsche has also included its new Porsche Surface Coated Brake standard.

Aerodynamic bragging rights fall to the adaptive roof spoiler, though. At full braking from 250 km/h, the SUV comes to a stop up to two metres earlier as a result. It sticks with steel discs, but a new tungsten carbide layer helps resist wear and reduces brake dust, keeping your Turbo-exclusive 21-inch alloys cleaner.

On the braking front there's the usual fade-resistant carbon ceramic option, but one thing you might not have expected is a new airbrake function.

The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo will cost £99,291 in the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom importer says first deliveries to customers will start in April 2018.
