Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy debuts in Frankfurt

Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy debuts in Frankfurt

According to Jaguar, the I-PACE eTrophy is the first global championship for production-based electric cars.

If we told you a decade ago there'd be a grid of all-electric Jaguar crossovers racing in every major city around the globe, would you believe us?

In concept form, the electric Jaguar I-Pace makes 395 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, enough to hit 60 miles per hour in about 4 seconds.

Turkey signs deal to buy Russian S-400 missile systems
President Erdogan lauded Pakistan's efforts and sacrifices for regional stability and reiterated his support to Pakistan. The Turkish leader said the process would continue with a transfer of Russian credit to Turkey.

The I-Pace racecars will be built by Jaguar's SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division in Warwickshire UK and of course, be based on the Jaguar I-Pace, which itself will be seen on streets towards the end of 2018.

A Jaguar statement said the I-PACE series "reinforces Jaguar Land Rover's commitment to electrification", and comes a week after its announcement that all new JLR model lines will contain either hybrid or battery technology from 2020.

Gerd Mäuser, chairman of Jaguar Racing, says the new auto strengthens Jaguar's commitment to battery electric vehicles, worldwide motorsport and Formula E - a series that Jaguar has been a part of since its third season. It's a decision made partly in response to the United Kingdom government's decision to ban the sale of all new petrol and diesel cars from 2040.

Hurricane Jose's potential track could put Southeast US Coast in its crosshairs
But another major hurricane named Jose has been creeping its way toward the U.S.'s east coast as if to say: Don't forget about me. For the European weather model, a recurvature out to sea or a landfall in New England or Canada were the preferred solutions.

The first person to show interest in that offer was Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag, who said that he would relish the chance to take part in the new series. Ultimately, this innovative series will serve to enhance the technology used in our future electric vehicles and benefit our customers. The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY will bring more entertainment for fans in-between sessions and will be a further testament to the advances in battery technology and exciting electric performance.

The full technical specifications and performance figures for the I-Pace eTrophy have yet to be announced, but Jaguar says they'll be confirmed ahead of the start of the season next year.

Demand is anticipated to be high and places will be awarded on a first come, first served basis from entrants and drivers holding the relevant worldwide race licence.
