Holly Bobo murder trial set to begin after more than 6 years

The trial for the murder of Holly Bobo entered its second day Tuesday, after a dramatic initial day in court that revealed the disturbing alleged details of the crime. Her remains were found 3 ½ years later near her home in Decatur County, located about 100 miles (161 kilometers) southwest of Nashville.

Holly disappeared at 7:30 a.m. on April 13, 2011. No bones below her neck have ever been found, sources say.

Adams, 33, who has a long criminal rap that includes assault and drug possession, could be sentenced to death if convicted of first-degree murder.

In opening statements, assistant Shelby County District Attorney Paul Hagerman said evidence and testimony will show that Zach Adams told Jason Autry that he, Shayne Austin, and John Dylan Adams had kidnapped and raped Holly. "They sat me, Clint and Karen down in the living room and said Holly had been found, that was her remains", her father, Dana Bobo recalled. Adams disposed of her remaining parts and depicted her to others in revolting terms. Two men found her remains in the woods in Decatur County near Nashville in September 2014, authorities said.

"He took her, he raped her, he killed her, he discarded her, he covered it up, he nearly got away with it", the prosecutor said.

Adams shot in her in the head because moved and made a sound, Hagerman said.

The trial is expected to last three weeks with as many as 90 witnesses taking the stand. Authorities found no hair, fingerprints or DNA belonging to Bobo in a search of Adams' home before he was charged in 2014, Thompson said.

The state and defense also questioned neighbor to the Bobo family, James Barnes, who said he heard a woman screaming and yelling "Stop - I said stop" from the Bobo house.

Mitt Romney 'Planning To Run' For Senate If Orrin Hatch Retires
Charlie Baker, a Republican, said he thinks Romney is "a very good man" but had not heard about his interest in the U.S. Romney remains broadly popular in Utah, and would be well-positioned to win in a reliably Republican state.

"He fundamentally offers his capital punishment" to prosecutors, Thompson said of Autry. "There are real problems with his story".

"Everything was normal [that morning]", Karen Bobo said.

Clint Bobo said he heard voices coming from the carport behind the family's home. She called Clint straight away, she said, and he said he thought the man his sister was with was her boyfriend, Drew Scott.

"It was the most exceedingly bad inclination you could feel, that something awful transpired of your children", Dana Bobo said.

Hope Hicks Appointed White House Communications Director
Along with Hicks, Sarah Sanders is press secretary and Stephanie Grisham is communications director for first lady Melania Trump. She went on to leave the firm to work for the Trump Organization on several projects, including Ivanka Trump's fashion line.

Bobo said he spoke with his mother, Karen, on the phone. He said she told him the person was not Scott and ordered her son to "get a gun and shoot him". As that happened, Karen Bobo passed out while still on the stand. Judge McGinley immediately escorted the jurors out and asked the media to stop recording.

Adams' defense claims police pinned the crime on him after still being unable to solve the case even after receiving an overwhelming amount of information and tip.

Holly Bobo's mother, Karen Bobo, took the stand and described the day her daughter disappeared.
