Apple TV 4K is finally here

Apple TV 4K is finally here

Call it being conservative or scatterbrained, but any way you look at it Apple is far behind competitors in the streaming media player department.

The last Apple TV - the fourth-gen box launched in 2015 - was left in the dust of rivals such as the Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast and Roku due to its expense and lack of supported apps, so we've been waiting for Apple to settle the score ever since. Optionally, you can also pair a more traditional game pad if you prefer. Hell, it can even order pizza!

A couple good things have already happened for Apple TV leading up to their 5th-generation model announcement. Two years ago, Ultra HD televisions were fairly rare, so Apple was probably smart to focus on 1080p at the time.

Apple has launched Apple TV 4K at its iPhone X event.

Apple is also releasing some other new software and hardware.

By Monday, swaths of the city were submerged, with Irma causing the worst flooding in Jacksonville since 1965. Lenny Curry, the city's mayor, had ordered about 264,000 residents in some areas to evacuate before Saturday.

The third-generation, announced in March 2012, didn't change anything about the external design of the Apple TV but did bump up the internal specs slightly. The new version is twice as fast, with four times faster graphics.

Apple on Tuesday announced the Apple TV 4K, a new set-top box that supports many more pixels and industry standard HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. This will lend to sharper imagery. According to appleinsider, we are to expect support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

Is Apple playing "catch up" with other media device makers? This would make it a compelling option for those wanting to watch Ultra HD 4K content on their Apple TV 4K. That seems to be the case of flawless timing, although I am sure some pundits will criticize Apple for being "late".

Rob Kardashian Reportedly Thinks Blac Chyna Is "Evil"
