Cheerleading coaches investigated after forcing girls into splits

Cheerleading coaches investigated after forcing girls into splits

Only one week into Ozell's new gig as the cheerleading coach at East High School, Williams now finds himself placed on leave.

In one of the videos, published by NBC, Ally Wakefield told Mr. Williams nine times in less than 24 seconds to "please, stop" as he pushed on her back and pulled her shoulders to correct her posture.

"This is a grown man pushing my 13-year-old girl so hard against her will while she's crying and screaming for him to stop that he's ripping tissues in her body", said Kristen Wakefield, the girl's mother. The video also shows the teen's arms being held by her teammates, making it impossible for her to move.

2nd Test of England vs West Indies
England's crushing victory by an innings and 209 runs in the first Test at Edgbaston proved what many had known before the series. And the skipper expects a strong West Indies response after heavy criticism of their performance in Birmingham.

The footage shows eight cheerleaders in total all being subjected to the same drill during the first week of a school cheerleading camp in June. "On August 23, 2017, the Denver Police Department received anonymous information regarding the incidents involving a cheerleader coach at East High School, and Denver Police child abuse detectives immediately began an investigation", the statement reads.

The station said the videos were shot on the phones of two team members and were sent anonymously to the station.

"I have attached a video of the forced splits she and her team members were forced to do at cheerleading camps and practices; unless they had a doctor's note", Kristen Wakefield wrote, according to WFAA.

Disgruntled Employee Shoots 1, Takes Hostages in Charleston, SC
People are being asked to avoid that area. "They are blocking off the whole block", Sarah Cobb, owner of MOSA boutique, told CNN. At least one person was shot and killed and another was injured, police said, according to Fox News , citing the city's mayor.

"My husband and I would like to know what the administration is going to do about my daughter's injury and how it happened", the email said.

The elder Wakefield sent an email alerting school officials on June 15, but a police investigation wasn't started for more than two months. This is standard practice in an investigation of this type.

Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg called the video "amazingly troubling" in an announcement. It does not imply or prejudge in any way the actions of the individuals or what the investigation might determine. We do not and will not allow any situation in which a student is forced to perform an activity or exercise beyond the point at which they express their desire to stop.
