Ladakh scuffle between Indian and Chinese troops caught on camera

The video apparently shows Chinese and Indian soldiers pelting stones at each other on the shore of the Pang Gong Tso lake.

The visit to Ladakh is significant; coming days after the Army foiled an incursion bid by Chinese soldiers. Neither the Government of India in New Delhi nor the Government of China in Beijing so far confirmed the authenticity of the video. Neither India nor China has shown any sign of backing off from a face-off that began almost two months ago when Indian soldiers entered the Doklam plateau to stop the Chinese army from constructing a road. Sources added that the trip was being seen as part of PM Narendra Modi's focus on J&K.Interestingly, Modi also visited the state at the start of his term in 2014.

India also rightly cautioned on Friday that episodes such as the one in Ladakh do not contribute to peace and tranquillity on the (disputed) border. Meanwhile, as the Doklam standoff is approaching its second month, China's Foreign Ministry has reiterated that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops would continue to defend Dong Lang, which is Chinese territory, and India should withdraw all its troops and equipment from there.
