Panthers extend Thomas Davis' contract

The Carolina Panthers have signed linebacker Thomas Davis to a one-year contract extension, team officials said. "Now it's totally focused on winning a Super Bowl". Gettleman was sacked by owner Jerry Richardson a week before the start of training camp, and interim general manager Marty Hurney stepped in. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice, secured five 100-tackle seasons in a row to become the Panthers' all time leading tackler, and recorded 10 interceptions. He is the Panthers' franchise leader with 1,086 tackles.

An investigation by the Observer showed that tense contract discussions between both Davis and Gettleman, and tight end Greg Olsen and Gettleman, were factors in a series of events that soured Richardson toward Gettleman, especially the owner's opinion of Gettleman's "bedside manner" in negotiations.

Over the course of his career, Davis, 34, has suffered significant injuries, tearing the ACL in his right knee three separate times in from 2009-11.

"Thomas is still playing fast and at a high-level, and the intensity and passion that he brings to the game is unmatched", said linebacker coach Al Holcomb. "I'm excited for Thomas, his family and our organization".

The Evil Within 2's New Trailer Introduces Human 'Monster', Stefano Valentini
At this point, we know a lot about Stefano Valentini as he has appeared in varying degrees in nearly every trailer. The video shows Valentini in his morgue-like darkroom surrounded by grisly photographs and severed limbs.

Davis' age and the investment the team made into Shaq Thompson, Carolina's first-round pick in 2015, raised some questions about a possible extension for Davis. He also scored his first career touchdown on a 46-yard fumble return versus Arizona.

Davis is going into his 13th year in the National Football League and for his career he has 939 tackles, 25.5 sacks and 13 interceptions.
