Seahawks' Michael Bennett sits for national anthem before preseason game

Last night, Marshawn Lynch of the Oakland Raiders showed his support for Kaepernick and the fight against racism by taking a seat during the "Star-Spangled Banner".

While his teammates stood and locked arms on the sideline as the national anthem played before Sunday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Carson, Calif., Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett sat alone on the bench.

Lynch said on an appearance on "Conan" in 2016 that he was supportive of protests led by then 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to sit during the National Anthem to bring light perceived injustices in the United States.

People on social media, on the other hand, had plenty to say both for and against the move. Kaepernick has not signed with a team for the 2017 season amid accusations league owners - denied by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell - are blackballing him.

Raiders coach Jack Del Rio spoke about Lynch's action after the 20-10 loss.

The Raiders return for another pre-season game Saturday, Aug. 19 at home against the L.A. Rams for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

"We'll do ours, '" NFL.com quoted Del Rio as saying. "I told him I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem".
