Taylor Swift no longer defendant in lawsuit against her, others

A jury will hear closing arguments in the case and in Taylor Swift's countersuit against Mueller beginning Monday morning.

The District Judge ruled that Swift was not liable, as Mueller had not proved that she personally set out to have him fired after the 2013 photo-op. He's seeking up to $3 million, saying the allegation cost him his job and reputation.

The then-girlfriend of former DJ David Mueller, who was standing with Mueller and Swift when the singer says he groped her, even testified that a co-worker had grabbed her backside at another concert.

Taylor Swift is no longer a defendant after the judge dismissed the lawsuit filed by the former DJ, #David Mueller.

Swift's attorney Doug Baldridge had argued there was no evidence the singer herself took any action that harmed Mueller. When she told a male friend, he asked if she had enjoyed it. Swift counter sued for a symbolic $1, as she did not want to profit off the case.

Moreover, Mueller also sued Swift's mother, Andrea Swift, and her radio handler, Frank Bell, on the same allegations. "I was visibly uncomfortable", Swift said, according to an Us Weekly reporter who was in the courtroom on Thursday.

Even before that ruling, women around the world, not all of them fans of Swift's music, had been cheering the pop superstar for confronting the issue in federal court and keeping an unflinching attitude on the witness stand.

Swift has said she will donate any damages awarded in her suit to charities that fight sexual assault on women.
