Indicating that he was not ready to toe the Nitish Kumar line, despite being outnumbered in the JD (U) by Kumar's supporters, Yadav said, "there are two JD (U) s in the state, one is sarkari (official) and another is janata's (of the people)".

After allying with the BJP in Bihar, Nitish Kumar had been invited to join the NDA.

Sharad, speaking on the last day of Bihar's three-day dialogue tour, attacked Nitish in Madhepura on Saturday, saying, "JDU is not just Nitish Kumar's party, it is also my party".

During his Jan Samvad programme in Bihar earlier this week, Yadav criticised Nitish for his decision to join hands with the BJP.

He refused to comment on the JD-U decision to replace him as the parliamentary party leader.
