Neymar to make PSG debut on Sunday: Spanish authorities approve deal

Neymar has been cleared to make his debut for Paris Saint-Germain against Guingamp on Sunday after his world-record €222million transfer from Barcelona was officially ratified.

Neymar's £198m move to PSG shocked the world last week, which made him the most expensive player in football's history.

On Thursday, the youngster was reported to have agreed a deal to leave the Ligue 1 title winners for PSG, in a €180m deal.

Anything other than a spectacular debut showing from Neymar and the criticism will begin in earnest.

PSG wanted Neymar to start the season at the Parc des Princes last week against Amiens but his debut was delayed because his worldwide transfer certificate (ITC) had not been received by the French league on time.

He said: "Of course with Neymar it's different, but it's three points to play for and we'll try to win the match".

"It's not like they spent less in my day", said the Dutchman speaking to Calciomercato.

Barca have been linked with a bid for Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele to replace Neymar, with the Bundesliga club reportedly holding out for a sum of €150m for the 20-year-old.

Barcelona also apparently tried to scoop up French star Ousmane Dembele, 20, who plays for the German side Dortmund, but the Bundesliga squad rejected the club's initial offer of roughly $118 million.

Coincidentally, Mourinho does look set to land PSG right back Serge Aurier as he looks for reinforcements following the loan departure of Timothy Fosu-Mensah to Crystal Palace.

"We'll see what he can give to PSG". The player had a buy-out clause, and PSG were willing to pay it.
