Borussia Dortmund suspend forward, Dembele 'until further notice'

The 20-year-old France global was fined and suspended until Monday for missing Thursday's training, but the ban has been extended indefinitely.

Borussia Dortmund have extended Ousmane Dembele's suspension indefinitely after the France worldwide went AWOL this week in an attempt to force through a move to Barcelona.

Bosz, chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc held a meeting on Saturday night and they have now made a decision to extend Dembele's suspension "until further notice" and he will have to train on his own.

Wall Street falls on North Korea concerns
Earlier on Thursday, North Korea revealed a plan to launch ballistic missiles toward a major US military hub in the Pacific. The Labor Department said its consumer price index inched up by 0.1 percent in July after coming in unchanged in June.

"Our focus now is on a concentrated preparation of the team for the Bundesliga opening match in Wolfsburg this coming weekend".

Sporting director Michael Zorc explained: "Ousmane Dembele was missing from BVB training today without permission and apparently decided voluntarily to do that".

Dortmund added that they "will not make any more comments on the situation beyond this statement".

Arsenal to make big Alexis Sanchez push
But it was not to be as substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Giroud struck late on to seal a remarkable three points for Wenger's side. Arsenal have made a "huge breakthrough" in contract negotiations with playmaker Mesut Ozil , according to a recent report.

"Borussia Dortmund have chose to suspend Ousmane Dembele from training with the team until further notice", read a statement on the club's official website.

His unauthorised absence came after Barca had a bid rejected for the France worldwide, who has been earmarked by the Liga powerhouse to replace Neymar following the Brazil star's world-record €222million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain this month.

Dembele joined Dortmund a little over 12 months ago from Rennes on a five-year contract and has attracted top European suitors after a breakout season at the Westfalenstadion.
