Arsenal boosted as PSG end interest in Alexis Sanchez

With Arsenal failing to qualify for this season's Champions League, Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move away from The Emirates Stadium although Wenger has repeatedly said this off-season that the Chile global is not for sale.

Sanchez returned late to pre-season training with the Gunners due to his commitments at the Confederations Cup with Chile and will now have his start to the new Premier League campaign delayed.

Rumours persist that Sanchez will leave before the window closes, with Wenger suggesting he will also miss the trip to Stoke next weekend.

North Korea spat rattles Wall Street
South Korea's fell 1.7 percent to its lowest since May 24, but its losses for the week are a relatively modest 3.2 percent. Investors instead turned to safe-haven assets such as gold, pushing it to a two-month high, and the Japanese yen rose.

"He has a little abdominal strain that he caught on Sunday morning in training, before he came to Wembley", Wenger told his weekly news conference. Sanchez has an abdominal injury that will keep him out of Friday night's opener against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium. "He is out for a while, could be two weeks but he will not be available for Stoke". "For us Alexis Sanchez is a loss, of course". Mesut Ozil , Aaron Ramsey and Shkodran Mustafi are all doubts for the league curtain raiser as well.

"It's always possible when players are in final year of contract [to renew]", the Frenchman added. "We are not there yet".

However, Wenger has quashed speculation over the Chilean's future, even though Sanchez has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League, a competition Arsenal will be absent from for the first time in two decades this season.

In April, he said he wouldn't label China a currency manipulator, in return for help in dealing with North Korea. Alleged intellectual property theft by China has been an issue of particular concern to Silicon Valley.

"It's a long time I didn't speak to Nasser, because it's certainly very busy to complete the transfer of Neymar and it's a long time that I didn't speak to him".

"That's what I read in the papers and on my side I had no contact at all with Paris Saint-Germain [about Sanchez]".

Arsenal dealt Sanchez injury blow
They finished on fifth position in the league last season but won the FA Cup after beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final. Wenger has insisted several times that Sanchez will not be sold, although links with Manchester City continue.
