Trump tells Guam Governor 'you are safe'

"You just went to 110 I think", Mr Trump joked.

"I just wanted to pay my respect", Trump said to Calvo over the phone. "I just wanted to call and say hello".

After the tourism discussion, the two talked more about North Korea and how to deal with someone like Kim Jong Un and about partisan rancor and obstructionism in Washington, D.C.

"Don't worry about a thing", Trump said. "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen".

Mr Calvo agrees: "It's paradise".

"With all the criticism that's going on over there, from a guy that's being targeted, we need a president like you".

Governor Eddie Calvo during a press briefing on Friday told everyone to remain calm and enjoy the weekend.

Calvo, who noted that this is not the first time North Korea has threatened the island, bluntly told Guam residents to simply conduct their daily business "as usual".

The Guam Homeland Security and Office of Civil Defense released a fact sheet on Facebook and its website. It included information on how to build an emergency supply kit, make an emergency family plan, make a list of potential concrete shelters near your home, and to not look at the flash or fireball because it can blind you.

With Guam's safety in the balance, Trump assured the territory's Governor Eddie Calvo: "We are with you 1000 per cent, you are safe".

Trump Claims Undue Credit for Revamping Nuclear Arsenal
Political analysts have been warning that the White House should take into consideration China's position on this boiling issue. North Korea hit back hours later, saying it is ready to carry out an attack near the U.S. island of Guam.

Mr Trump agreed that, "They should have had me in years ago ... frankly you could have said that for the last three presidents". We are rock solid, and we have the best in the world by a factor of five.

On Friday, the president had issued fresh threats of swift and forceful retaliation against nuclear North Korea, declaring the USA military "locked and loaded" and warning that the communist country's leader "will regret it fast" if he takes any action against US territories or allies.

If correct, and if the United States allows the missiles to launch in the first place, that leaves 17 minutes for tracking stations on land and sea - including the Pine Gap facility near Alice Springs - to calculate, target and try to destroy the missiles.

On Wednesday, Mr Trump followed up his "fire and fury" warning with a boast about U.S. nuclear capabilities.

Gold Prices Hit 2-Month Highs, Defensive Demand Continues
