Pep Guardiola vows to decrease spending

After two months of summer holidays, hundreds of millions of pounds spent in the transfer window and a intense pre-season training programme, soccer clubs vying for the Premier League title 2017/18 better be ready to hit the ground running. In the last six or seven years Manchester City didn't buy full backs.

Watford are yet again under new management, but bookmakers are predicting another season of toil for the Hornets, pricing them at 15-8 for the drop. Even Chelsea and Manchester United can not call on half of City's attacking options and if it clicks then no-one will be able to lay a finger on them.

But Albion shattered their transfer record earlier this week on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Davey Propper, and were set to pass that mark with the £13 million acquisition of Colombia winger Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge ahead of City's visit.

"We needed to do that because it was one of the oldest teams in Europe, not just the Premier League, and we need to change it". In the market we will see what happens until the end of August. We are strong defensively and I predict 1-1. Which three teams are headed for the trap door? We have the recent example of Leicester City, that surprised everyone as nobody expected them to win.

Guardiola fast-tracks Man City starlet Phil Foden to first-team
Now, they have re-enforced, and you get the feeling, that if they come off then this is a team that is going to fly. If they decide we're not able, then they'll find a solution.

'It's unsustainable, ' Guardiola said when asked about Premier League fees.

United finished outside the top four for the third time in four seasons, but secured a Champions League berth by winning the Europa League and also tasted glory in the League Cup.

"The group of players this season are going to stay here for a long time". I'm honest in the job.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the Spanish worldwide in the Spanish press in recent weeks.

Chelsea legend admits Conte has serious issues to address
Conte added: "We are facing different problems". "It won't be easy to repeat an awesome season like previous year ", he said . They have a lot of matches now and that means there's not the time to work like Conte wants [on the training pitch].

Still shaky in defence, potential signing Virgil Van Dijk could plug the leaks but manager Jurgen Klopp still has work to do if he wants to keep his side in the top four this season and win his first trophy in England. We're going to change maybe one important player, depending on who we sell'.

"I was confident then too", the coach admitted.

Where the Manchester clubs have spent upwards of 200 million pounds on their teams, Chelsea - who have a small squad as it is - have brought in just Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata, both talented players but unaccustomed to the rigours of the Premier League.

When Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City in July 2016, the club made a fuss of the unveiling of their superstar manager by staging a "Cityzens Weekend", at which the slogan "It Begins" was projected from anything and everything bearing a club badge. I'm not going to say we are going to play all the season in that system, we are going to play different systems, but the fundamentals will be the same.
