London jogger who allegedly pushed woman in front of bus denies attack

Bellquist, who works for London-based private equity firm Hutton Collins Partners, was questioned but not officially charged during his arrest and was later released.

A video released by London Police shows a man in a light gray t-shirt and blue athletic shorts running on the sidewalk along Putney Bridge, which crosses the River Thames in Southwest London.

But yesterday his lawyers revealed he has irrefutable proof that he was in the United States at the time of the incident.

Police released CCTV footage this week showing the female pedestrian being pushed in front of the 430 bus by a male jogger at about 7.40am.

This afternoon, Metropolitan Police announced Mr Bellquist had been eliminated from the investigation, while the hunt for the jogger continues.

Mr Bellquist's lawyer added he had "irrefutable proof" he was in the USA at the time.

Bellquist's lawyers say they have proof the 41-year-old could not have been the jogger on Putney Bridge.

The bus is seen swerving and narrowly missing the woman.

According to police reports, the runner shoved the woman onto the road - an incident that could have resulted in a fatality - and continued on his run only to loop back along the same grounds 15 minutes after.

'By this time the members of the public who had helped the woman were gone and she tried to talk to him as he ran past her but he just ignored her. The driver went on to say he is also pleased to have been able to react like he did and that the woman received no serious injuries.
