Buccaneers kicker Roberto Aguayo released after missing two preseason kicks

Roberto Aguayo - the second round pick from 2015 - has been released per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

He is one of only four kickers in the last 26 years to be drafted in the top two rounds, joining current Giant Mike Nugent (Jets, 2005, 47th overall), the Raiders' Sebastian Janikowski (2000, 17th overall) and retired Lions mainstay Jason Hanson (1992, 56th overall). After reports of him struggling in practice surfaced during the 2016 offseason, Aguayo missed his first kick of the preseason, an extra point, and then missed two field goals later in the preseason.

It should be noted that Aguayo never missed a kick in his entire college career.

After quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick hit paydirt from six yards out to give Tampa its first touchdown, Aguayo lined up...and missed the extra point. Aguayo's longest made field goal past year was just 43 yards.

Everton v Stoke: Premier League preview, line-ups & predictions
Everton fans will be expecting their side to get off to a good start following a summer of heavy investment. They are tasked with the giant responsibility of replacing Romelu Lukaku .

The Bucs' investment in Aguayo, who had left Florida State as the most accurate kicker in NCAA history, is what hurts the most. I know I pushed it a little bit, and I felt hopefully it would stay in but it broke right. Unlucky. And the last one, I was trying to get a good hit on it.

Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter sounded extremely frustrated with his kicker after the game. "You're a kicker. You've gotta make your kicks", Koetter said, via ESPN.com. Not what I wanted. I hit it good. I want to change that. You just have to keep your head up and move onto the next day.

Trump tells Guam Governor 'you are safe'
Mr Trump agreed that, "They should have had me in years ago ... frankly you could have said that for the last three presidents". On Wednesday, Mr Trump followed up his "fire and fury" warning with a boast about U.S. nuclear capabilities.

"But it's natural instinct to think, 'I want to get better.' And I'm not saying he's doing that - I don't know". I had a field goal in there but at the end of the day, it wasn't what I wanted.

"When you get bored doing something, 'well there's more I can do".
