'Sir' Ravindra Jadeja's poetic reply to International Cricket Council's 1-Test ban

'Sir' Ravindra Jadeja's poetic reply to International Cricket Council's 1-Test ban

India spinner Ravindra Jadeja has been suspended for the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele stadium after accumulating six demerit points over a 24-month period, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Sunday.

India has secured the series by taking a 2-0 lead that includes a 304-run win in the first test in Galle.

It was a first victory by an innings or more for India in Sri Lanka and, following their biggest victory by runs in Galle last week, ensured an eighth straight series triumph under Virat Kohli.

Jadeja fell foul of the umpires after the final delivery of the 58th over when, fielding off his own bowling, he threw the ball back at batsman Dimuth Karunaratne, who had not left his crease.

"You expect teams playing test cricket to come out and play like that. Very happy that we went through the hard phases as well and you never get complacent as a side then".

Sri Lanka resumed day four on 209 for two and looked determined to make India bat again.

This is not the first time Jadeja has found himself caught in a controversy.

Karunaratne kept up the fight during his 69-run fifth-wicket stand with former captain Angelo Mathews, who made a gritty 36 from 66 balls before being caught behind off Jadeja. That is the reason why he is ranked number one in world ranking.
