In a statement on Saturday, the groups said Nigerian entertainer, Charly Boy, would lead a protest to demand that President Muhammadu Buhari resume office or resign.

Despite the heavy downpour in Abuja on Monday, Nigerians, majorly youths, led by Charles Oputa, known as Charlyboy, made good their threat to protest over the continuous stay of President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

"On the second issue, whether the president should resign or disclose or whatever, I think they are stepping outside the laws of this country".

According to Nigeria's The Guardian newspaper, dozens of protesters along with the representatives of the country's civil society peacefully marched through Abuja to the presidential residence.

Garba Shehu, spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari, has urged protesters demanding the president's resignation to do their research well as the president has done nothing wrong.
