Eagles waive former first-round pick Marcus Smith

The Denver Broncos have added offensive lineman Allen Barbre in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, as first reported by Ian Rapoport. After being taken with the 26th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Smith only played in 37 games with the Eagles, with zero starts.

Barbre, 33, started 12 games last season for Philadelphia, playing left guard and some right tackle.

"Isaac's the starter and then there's just competition from there; that's the great thing about training camp, the great thing about this business, it's just so stinking competitive", offensive coordinator Frank Reich said.

Last month, Reuters reported that the scientific data it had studied did not fully support that claim. The ingredient was reportedly found in flavors like Phish Food, Half-Baked and Peanut Butter Cookie.

The Eagles had originally played Smith in a hands-down role from the defensive line before moving him to an EDGE pass-rushing role.

"I was really shocked", Barbre told 104.3 The Fan, a Denver sports radio show, moments after learning of the trade.

Smith was the Eagles' first-round pick in 2014, and was considered a reach at the time. It's surely a late round pick, one that the Eagles might not get if Barbre doesn't make the roster.

"If Gehlot will not apologise, I will resign as MLA before the Rajya Sabha election to avoid voting for Ahmedbhai", Vaghela said. As per latest reports, the MLAs joined the saffron party at the BJP office in Gandhinagar.

"Allen Barbre is a pro's pro", Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said, via Philadelphia's team website. He joins Josh Huff, Bennie Logan and Eric Rowe as top players from Kelly drafts who are no longer with the Eagles. He made an impressive debut with the Eagles by replacing injured left tackle Jason Peters in a victory at Green Bay in 2013.

Despite his draft status, the decision to cut Smith wasn't a surprising one. However, Isaac Seumalo was declared the starter over Barbre as camp opens up. When the Broncos signed left guard Ron Leary to a four-year, $36 million contract as a free agent from Dallas in March, Garcia moved to right guard.

Financially the Eagles take a minor hit by releasing Smith, and will pay him almost $1 million this year to watch from his couch or on an opposing sideline.
