Skydiver kills self by not opening parachute

An incident report released Friday by the DeLand Police Department says Capotorto Vitantonio's wife ran into Sky Dive DeLand Tuesday after receiving the video and begged an employee to stop her husband.

The worker radioed the pilot, but Capotorto had already jumped, police said.

Vitantonio, an Italian national, was found with his face down in a field southeast of the runways at DeLand Municipal Airport, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

It may not be much to go on, but this news about Elastigirl really leading the charge is incredibly exciting, full-stop. The core cast hit the stage, with first-timer Huck Milner joining the crew as the new voice of Dash.

Jumping from a plane Tuesday morning about 10am, dispatchers on the ground desperately tried reaching crew, urging them to stop Vitantonio.

Capotorto had already jumped to his death from a Skydive DeLand airplane, flying 13,500 feet above the city without deploying his parachute, police said.

Before the jump, Vitantonio texted a video to his wife, Costanza Zitellini, describing his plan, telling her "I'm going somewhere wonderful".

Muslim Brotherhood condemns Egypt attacks
Egypt's embattled Muslim Brotherhood group has condemned two deadly attacks that left seven people dead, including two foreigners. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the attack could spark more violence and urged all sides to avoid escalation.

Richards told police she had seen Vitantonio before the flight and "he had seemed normal". He was 27 and lived in DeLand with his wife. The 60-year-old man jumped out of a plane and took off his parachute while he was in the air near Albany, N.Y. He was found dead due to blunt force trauma to the head.

Mike Johnston, a general manager at the facility told The News-Journal earlier this week that Capotorto's wife had arrived "moments too late". Skydive DeLand is a member of the United States Parachute Association, who reported 21 skydiving fatalities during 2016 out of an estimated 3.2 million jumps by members.
