R. Kelly : the singer accused to retain young women in the sect

Kelly is holding at least five women as part of a sex "cult", according to parents and some former members of his inner circle. Kelly reportedly records his sexual encounters with the women and dictates how they are allowed to dress and when they eat and bathe.

They claimed Kelly controlled their phone/social media use and were banned from taking photos with him or of the space where they lived.

J and her husband are desperate to bring their daughter home and have told police that they're daughter is "being held against her will" in what they described as a "cult", but their daughter insists she is there willingly. In order to reconnect with her daughter and learn more about the parameters of her relationship with Kelly, the mother has closed down her business and conducted her own investigation, sharing the information with FBI in both IL and Georgia.

Mack Jones, who worked for Kelly for a year and a half beginning in 2013 and maintains contact with some of his current associates, told Buzzfeed that the women initially think, "I'm going to live a lavish lifestyle". "You have to ask to go use the bathroom", Jones said. They say that several other women involved in the story began living with R. Kelly at 18 or 19, and they were "trained" by a 31-year-old "den mother" at R. Kelly's homes in how to sexually please him.

Describing him, sources told Buzzfeed that he's a "puppet master" and that he calls the women his "babies" who in turn have to call him "daddy".

Kelly's lawyer, Linda Mensch, said in a statement that Kelly "works hard to become the best person and artist he can be" and "l$3 ike all of us, Mr. Kelly deserves a personal life". J says that she hasn't seen her daughter in person since December 1, 2016 and has only heard from her (via text message) twice since then - on Christmas and on Mother's Day.

A new column on BuzzFeed says that R. Kelly is running an abusive "cult".

The families have gone to the police, who have done welfare checks, but no arrests have been made because the women were/are all past the age of consent (in both IL and Georgia) and they deny Kelly's doing them any harm. DeRogatis was reportedly handed the two tapes which he then turned over to the police.

If you can stomach it, the full article is available on BuzzFeed News, and includes excerpts from calls made between Kelly and one of his "protégées".
