Health care battle reveals a moral divide among Republicans

"It is simply unworkable in any form and would undermine protections for those with pre-existing medical conditions, increase premiums and lead to widespread terminations of coverage for people now enrolled in the individual market", America's Health Insurance Plans and the BlueCross BlueShield Association wrote in a joint letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Democratic Leader Charles Schumer.

McCain's office announced on Saturday that after a routine physical he underwent surgery on Friday to remove a blood clot from above his left eye at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Shelley Moore Capito, R-WV, said Thursday in a statement. He is at home with his family and, "on the advice of his doctors", will be recovering in Arizona this week, a spokeswoman said.

Paul's reasons for opposing the bill are very different from Collins'; he says it retains too much of the Affordable Care Act.

Meanwhile, two Republican senators - Susan Collins of ME and Rand Paul of Kentucky - have already said they will not support a motion to proceed to floor debate on the legislation.

Plane evacuated after passenger 'passed gas'
Passengers on board an American Airlines flight on July 16 were forced to get off after one of them allegedly passed gas . American Airlines officials Sunday night said that a plane had an odor issue but denied it was because of " passed gas ".

Holding only a two-vote majority, Senate leaders can only afford two defections. And now with McCain staying home, the GOP leadership is less likely to gain 50 votes, a threshold to begin debate on the legislation. But the House struggled to pass its version of the bill, and the Senate has had even more troubles.

"On the Senate side, I would estimate that there about eight to 10 Republican senators who have deep concerns", Ms. Collins said on ABC's "This Week".

Indeed, the bill cuts Medicaid significantly more harshly than the House's version of Obamacare repeal did - and that bill was written by Paul Ryan, who is not exactly known for his love of the welfare state, and secured the support of the Freedom Caucus. The Senate bill makes a common-sense change on how states get the money.

But it was not clear whether the Republican leader has achieved the delicate balance he needs after an embarrassing setback last month when he abruptly canceled a vote in the face of widespread opposition to a bill he crafted largely in secret. "We're willing to do what we can to shore up the system now, to stabilize it to make health care available to people now, but we want reforms to go along with it".

Messaging app Telegram to block terror channels
It is believed the app has been used to coordinate several terrorist attacks, including in Indonesia, in the last few years. The Berlin-based app uses two layers of encryption, and claims to be faster and more secure than other messaging services.

Fewer parents might bring their children in for regular checkups or immunizations, he said, "if they have to choose between food, groceries and a doctor's bill", said Dr. Bruno, a pediatrician at Geisinger Medical Center.

"If we're not successful now, I assume we'll keep trying", Cornyn said of an upcoming vote. Since its creation in 1965, Medicaid has provided open-ended federal funds to help states pay the program's costs. With the insurance coverage of millions at stake, interviewers like Chuck Todd must be better prepared to confront Republican lawmakers when they make their case with lies and misrepresentations.

"Republicans spent the past two weeks putting lipstick on a pig", California Sen.

"These junk insurance plans could charge people more or simply deny them coverage based on pre-existing conditions", said Sen. No Republican senators expressed concern about this, it hasn't been a Democratic criticism of the bill, and nothing about the current interest rate environment suggests it was a substantive problem with the bill. And these plans could come with high deductibles or financial limits on coverage since insurers wouldn't have to adhere to the Obamacare rules that curtail how much enrollees have to pay out-of-pocket.

Realty Income Corporation (NYSE:O) Upgraded at BidaskClub
It worsened, as 45 investors sold SLG shares while 109 reduced holdings. 39 funds opened positions while 127 raised stakes. Lasalle Investment Management Securities Llc acquired 13,775 shares as Sl Green Realty Corp ( SLG)'s stock declined 8.11%.

Capito said she continues to be anxious about the bill's original language reducing the amount of federal money states receive if they expanded Medicaid to cover people making just above the poverty line. Republican aides suggested on Sunday that the Congressional Budget Office will not release its evaluation of Mr. McConnell's revised bill on Monday, as initially expected.
