Texas man trapped in ATM slips notes to customers begging for help

A police officer driving near the waterfront in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon was waved down and given an unusual tip: An automated teller machine (ATM) was dispensing handwritten notes scribbled with an existential appeal - "please help". However, one of them made a decision to call the police. The notes which he had writen read "Please help. I'm stuck in here" before imploring people to call his boss. A Bank of America ATM spitting emergency notes with cash and receipts sounded like an absurdly constructed plot of a prank television show.

His strategy paid of as officials were notified and able to help him.

Thomas Meo, 21, of Plumstead, is one of four missing men that police from several departments are looking for in Bucks County. The charging documents state that DiNardo told police, "When they turned their backs on me, I shot Tom in the back".

Actually, the man was inside a little room that connects with the ATM.

With nobody to help he chose to grab customer's attention and it worked.

It was around 2pm when the police arrived the spot to rescue the man. "It's got to be a joke", Senior Officer Richard Olden said.

A customer called police, who heard a faint voice coming from the ATM. The police had to bring down a door to help the stuck man out of it.

"Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just insane", said Olden.
