Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the founder of the Special Olympics, is being honored posthumously at the ESPYs with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, for her dedication to using the power of sports to empower people with disabilities. "Through her passionate service, she made our world more welcoming, inclusive and fair".

Obama said Kennedy Shriver was a woman who believed that everyone had something to contribute and that giving others a chance to reach their potential makes us all win.

"Once a great first lady, still a great first lady", he said as the crowd roared.
