New 'Pokemon' Movie 'I Choose You' Drops Ash's Friends, Misty And Brock

Original Pokémon fans are disappointed that two of the main characters who they grew up loving are excluded from the new movie and it's impossible to see them warming to the new duo.

It's such a shame that the producers made a decision to replace Brock and Misty in Pokemon the Movie - after all the two played a big part in the original anime series and are as nearly as popular as Ash himself.

Both might be Ash's most well-known friends, with Misty even appearing in the first episode I Choose You! after which the upcoming film is named.

The little pocket monsters became a part of our life, Ash, Brock and Misty were three amigos and they could never be separated.

As everyone who was around for the initial Pokemon craze knows, Ash was accompanied on his travels by two firm friends; Misty and Brock.

Meanwhile, Brock and Misty still make a cameo appearance in the movie as they are featured during the end credits in a montage of all of Ash's other companions through the years.

According to Twitter user Alex Aniel (via PokeBeach), the closing credits include Brock and Misty, as well as Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie.

Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You premieres in Japan this Saturday, July 15.

Ironically, the new film will also reenact several big Brock and Misty moments, including the iconic scene where the young trainers set Butterfree free in "Bye-Bye Butterfree". Since I Choose You is meant to be a celebration of the series' twentieth anniversary, the fact that two memorable characters are being snubbed in this way hasn't gone down too well. Fans feared that these characters were "replacements" for Brock and Misty in the new movie.and it appears that they were right.
