Spieth keeps Travelers lead with birdie on 18

Jordan Spieth clinched his 10th PGA Tour victory in the same way as his first, by holing a bunker shot to win the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut on Sunday.

Berger, who was looking to win his second tournament in three starts, watched as Spieth's approach shot on the 18th found the greenside bunker, meaning the two-time major champion would need to get up and down to force a playoff.

Spieth had the utmost respect for Berger, who was in search of his second win in three weeks, after successfully defending his title at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis. Spieth and Tiger Woods are the only two players in the modern era to reach 10 wins before turning 24-years-old.

Spieth bogeyed Nos. 13 and 14, but matched Weekley with three birdies on the final four holes, capping it with the final shot of the round from below the hole. After bogeying 12, he hit his tee shot on the par-5 13th toward the water.

The Texas ex made two crucial birdies on 15 and 16 to recover from two straight bogeys.

"It's really comprehensive", says Grube.

Spieth hit his first six fairways and got his first birdie of the day on the sixth hole, when he chipped in from 30 feet behind the green.

As soon as he holed the shot, Spieth flung his sand wedge, ran out of the bunker toward his caddie, Michael Greller, and both leaped in the air for a chest-bump and the crowd surrounding the 18th hole went bananas.

For golf fans complaining of a somewhat lackluster finish to the U.S. Open last week, the little old Travelers Championship more than made up for it on Sunday night outside Hartford.

"I was a little tentative to start", Spieth said. As much work as I've put into golf and as much as I'd love to win again and be a part of it, don't matter which tournament, I just want to win. "Which is just bad for me to think because I was so much more out of position than he was", Spieth said.

Rod Pampling is next best after Leishman at even par and T60 while Geoff Ogilvy couldn't back up his excellent 65 from Friday and signed for a 73 to fall to 1-over for the week and T67.
