Prosecutors vow to retry Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby's lawyer repeatedly demanded a mistrial in his sex assault trial as five days of deliberations on the fate of the man once known as America's Dad pushed into Father's Day weekend, but the judge said there was no precedent to shut down the jury's talks.

A lawyer representing many of Mr Cosby's accusers, Gloria Allred, said she was hoping the prosecution would try the case again.

Cosby's wife of 53 years, Camille, slammed prosecutors for bringing the case to court, calling District Attorney Kevin Steele "heinously and exploitively ambitious" in a statement released after court adjourned.

Comedian Hannibal Burress lambasted Cosby over Constand's long-standing but by then largely forgotten allegations.

"Courageous", Steele told me is the word he uses to describe her. Prosecutors have suggested he gave her something stronger, possibly quaaludes.

When asked if Cosby had a message to share with his accusers, Wyatt bristled: "This is not about all the women, this was about Ms. Constand".

Patrick said she didn't believe she did anything wrong in the first collision even though Earnhardt Jr. only took partial blame. Under caution, Earnhardt stayed out and when the green flag flew to start the third and final stage, he was second.

At the time, she was the operations manager for the women's basketball program at Temple University, where Cosby was the most famous alumnus and a member of the board of trustees, someone she viewed as a mentor and father-figure.

Constand first told police about the alleged assault in January 2005, a year after she says it took place.

But it was Cosby's reputation as a public moralist who urged young people to pull up their saggy trousers and start acting responsibly that prompted a federal judge to unseal portions of an explosive deposition he gave more than a decade ago as part of Constand's civil lawsuit against him.

Sixty women, including Constand, have accused Cosby of drugging and/or sexually assaulting them, or attempting to do so.

The judge said he saw no evidence of coercion or trouble in the deliberating room after the jurors reported their impasse on Thursday and he instructed them to keep trying for a verdict.

The controversy played a role in a federal judge's decision in 2015 to unseal parts of a deposition Cosby had given almost a decade earlier as part of a lawsuit Constand filed against him alleging sexual battery.

She also thanked lawyers Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa and spokesperson Andrew Wyatt, along with the their staff, as well as offering thanks "to our children, grandchildren, and other family who loves us... and to our dear friends and supporters, who never gave up on us, despite it all".

Johnson was the only other accuser allowed to testify in the case, despite the fact that the prosecution had requested 13 other accusers to testify as "prior bad act witnesses". "This is talking to a lover", McMonagle said of one call that lasted 49 minutes.

"We get 12 people to agree on sex assault cases all the time, but this is not any case".

A decade later, another district attorney reopened the investigation after his lurid deposition became public, and dozens of women came forward against one of the most beloved stars in all of show business.

"There are some things in this case that should be fuzzy. Why?"

Cosby's trial started earlier this month. "Because he drugged her to do this", the prosecutor told jurors. Cosby was able to perpetrate his crimes, they said, in part because of his skin color.

Joining their big sister, Blue Ivy , who is five-years-old now, we still aren't sure if they are fraternal twins or identical. What's more interesting is that the rapper and his daughter Blue Ivy were also spotted at the same hospital on Thursday.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done.
