PM Modi's one-on-one with Trump, 'working dinner' to start shortly

Experts expect those sales to be of drones.

Highlighting the success of surgical strikes against terror havens along the Line of Control (LoC), Prime Minister Modi said that the move was a double-edged sword for which the entire world could have questioned New Delhi, but only those who faced the consequences took to criticising them.

But to Modi, Trump is a new face who supplanted former President Barack Obama, a leader the Indian Prime Minister grew close to in the two years they overlapped in office.

He further added, "He (Trump) has through me, as well on his own, enough people (to brief him). he knows Prime Minister Modi really well". A few Americans have welcomed the visit. Their warm relationship was evident throughout the trip, cemented by a number of public hugs.

While it is possible that the issue might not be raised, president and CEO of Open Doors USA, David Curry, wrote in an article that the "brutal persecution of Christians, Muslims and other religious minorities in India" is something that President Trump will have to raise during the bilateral.

Both Trump and Modi have tried to boost domestic manufacturing in their own country. The political observers suggested the meeting will be crucial given Trump's hard stance on H1B Visas and priority in hiring American people.

But a subsequent BBC investigation found that despite the use of the term "surgical strikes", India did not airdrop commandos to hit militants inside Pakistani-held territory, or conduct ground assaults deep into the Pakistan-administered side.
