Montreal resident accused of stabbing police officer at MI airport

Lt. Jeff Neville, who was wounded at Bishop International Airport on Wednesday in a possible terrorism attack, is now recovering at Hurley Hospital and is expected to be released as early as Sunday - 50 stitches later, according to his doctor.

The FBI's Gelios says Ftouhi lunged at airport police officer Lt. Jeff Neville, stabbing him in the neck while shouting "God is great" in Arabic.

David P. Gelios, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Detroit office, said Ftouhi was not any law enforcement watch lists for terrorist suspects in the United States or Canada.

The assailant in the Wednesday morning attack that prompted an evacuation and shutdown of Bishop International Airport has been identified as 49-year-old Amor M. Ftouhi of Quebec.

Another view: Senate health bill is a travesty
Trump didn't indicate what types of changes may be in store, but affirmed that he had described a US House-passed bill as "mean". More Democratic states, he said, could try single-payer systems while conservative states could bolster health savings accounts.

"I think it is safe to say that there will be additional charges forthcoming against Mr. Ftouhi", he said, adding if there is evidence the attack was an act of terrorism, terrorism- related charges could be authorized. Ftouhi legally entered the U.S.in Lake Champlain, New York, on June 16, and later traveled to Flint, Gelios said. He further exclaimed something similar to, "You have killed people in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and we are all going to die".

He declined to go into why Flint was chosen for the attack, but said Ftouhi "did want to identify an global airport and Flint, by name alone, is known as an worldwide airport".

At a federal court hearing it was said that Ftouhi has lived in Canada for 10 years and he was described as a Canadian and Tunisian citizen. He is married and has three children.

Court officials said he had no history of drug or alcohol abuse or mental health issues. Canadian police have been likewise reluctant to discuss what they found when they searched his apartment in Montreal.

Glo greets Muslims on Eid-el-Fitri
Celebrations traditionally begin with Chand Raat, the evening before the day of Eid, when people go for Eid shopping. Worshippers wear new clothes on Eid, visit their relatives and friends, and greet each other by saying Eid Mubarak.

"Based on the information we've been able to identify thus far, he was neither on the radar of Canadian authorities or Federal Bureau of Investigation or United States authorities", Gelios said. He spent some time on the first floor.

Ftouhi asked an officer who subdued him why he did not kill him, according to the criminal complaint. He legally entered the US through NY on June 16.

No Eid dinner at white house
President Barack Obama hosted his first Ramadan dinner in 2009 and subsequently every year of his Presidency. Bush hosted the dinner annually throughout his tenure as president, including just after the 9/11 attacks.
