Adjunct who posted about N. Korea detainee won't be rehired

No great shock: The UK's Daily Mail picked up the story about the ex University of DE parttime anthropology professor who posted on Facebook that Otto Warmbier "deserved" to die because he was a "young, rich clueless white male" who "never had to face the consequences of his actions". She had last taught a course in the spring.

"Otto is typical of the mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males who come into my classes", she began. The school issued an initial statement denouncing her comments, which she posted when she was not employed at the school.

The spokesman also said that the Obama administration never officially requested Warmbier's release and refused to establish any kind of dialogue with North Korea.

Jordan Spieth plays by the numbers — Travelers notebook
Can anyone overtake Spieth for good? He had seven birdies in the third round and leads the tournament with 19 after three rounds. All of a sudden there is a group that is one back or even you may not be leading anymore. "So that will be the goal tomorrow".

Warmbier died of unknown causes June 19, a week after he was returned to the United States in a coma.

The North Korean official denied that the country had tortured Warmbier, contending that the 22-year-old left North Korea in "his normal state of health indicators", and that his death is a "mystery".

Dettwyler did not immediately respond to messages from The Washington Post seeking comment Sunday night.

The 62-year-old anthropology professor went on to blame his parents for allowing their son to "think he could get away with whatever he wanted". The sales accounted for more than 50 percent of North Korea's exports to China a year ago and about a fifth of its total trade, according to Yang Moo-jin, a professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul. Is there anyone dumb enough to think Wambier received better treatement at the hands of North Korea prison doctors than he did here at home.

"The University of DE values respect and civility and we are committed to global education and study overseas therefore we find these comments particularly distressing and inconsistent with out values. Our sympathies are with the Warmbier family". An archived version of her curriculum vita says she has taught at the in previous years at the University of DE, as well as the University of Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M University, and Millersville University.

The Review, the independent student newspaper at the university, reported that Dettwyler had a reputation on campus for being outspoken about her political beliefs.
