Mike Lee Thinks the Healthcare Bill Is a Joke

Medicaid, targeted by the Republicans' health-care bills, pays for most of the 1.4 million elderly people in nursing homes, some of whom do not know they are on it.

Speaking exclusively with "Fox & Friends Weekend", Trump said he hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together and pass a bill that "everybody's happy with".

Casey and others say the bill poses a bigger threat to Pennsylvania's health care system than many other states, partly because of Pennsylvania's relatively generous Medicaid program and partly because of its relatively older and costlier population.

I urge readers to urge our senators to oppose any legislation that will deprive the citizens of meaningful health care coverage.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said that President Donald Trump "is pleased to see the process moving forward swiftly in Congress, and he looks forward to seeing a finalised bill on his desk".

If Medicaid expansion ends, the uninsured will go back to hospital emergency rooms for their health care.

There are a few distinctions, though I wouldn't call them real differences.

Police tried to cordon off the area but were overwhelmed by the scores of villagers who pushed through to reach the truck. In numerous most deadly of these, people were trying to recover spilt fuel and were caught in the subsequent fire.

With Democrats and independents unified in opposition, McConnell can only afford to lose two of the 52 GOP votes in the Senate. It would take only three defections to Democrats opposing the bill to sink the measure.

ROVNER: Well, the piece of the Affordable Care Act that's most at stake is what we've just been talking about, the people who buy their own insurance in the individual market.

Although the Senate bill includes a waiver process for states to opt out of most of Obamacare's regulations, it does not allow states to deviate from Obamacare's rules forbidding insurers from treating any customers differently on the basis of pre-existing conditions.

Others, like Sens. Dean Heller of Nevada, Shelly Moore Capito of West Virginia and Rob Portman of OH, have pointed to concerns about the proposal's cuts to Medicaid.

"I have deep concerns with details in the US Senate's plan to fix America's health care system and the resources needed to help our most vulnerable, including those who are dealing with drug addiction, mental illness and chronic health problems and have nowhere else to turn", Kasich tweeted.

"This bill is exactly the opposite of what the President said", Stabenow told WWJ.

Children make up more than 40 percent of the Medicaid program nationally.

Five Republican senators have announced they will not support the bill, which is created to repeal and replace Obamacare, in its current form. Each state has expanded Medicaid and has a GOP senator. But a more holistic, less plutocratic conservatism would not stop there: In an environment where de-industrialization and social breakdown have driven the working class Trumpward, saying we should not oversubsidize their health insurance should be followed by saying so that we can find other ways to help them.

Under the current draft, Medicaid would be phased out under the bill beginning in 2021, with gradual reductions until 2024 in the amount of federal Obamacare funds that have financed the entitlement program's expansion.
