What was Queen's Speech missing? Donald Trump

The State Opening of Parliament, delayed by two days because of confusion caused by the inconclusive result of the June 8 election, took place without some of the traditional ceremony, with the Queen arriving by auto rather than carriage and wearing a blue dress and hat rather than her robes and state crown.

Of 27 Bills and draft bills unveiled in her first Queen's Speech, eight are devoted to the complex process of withdrawal from the EU, including a Repeal Bill to overturn the 1972 Act which took Britain into the European Economic Community and separate Bills on customs, trade, immigration, fisheries, agriculture, nuclear safeguards and the worldwide sanctions regime.

Mrs May has excluded the explicit pledge to reduce immigration to the "tens of thousands", despite saying she wanted to achieve this by the end of this Parliament.

The queen, at an occasion shorn of its usual pageantry, read out the watered-down list of proposed legislation and lawmakers will then spend the next few days debating before bringing it to a vote.

The European flag symbolises the European Union and the identity and unity of Europe and features a circle of 12 gold stars on a blue background.

Meanwhile, the government also promised to investigate ways to streamline the home buying process so it is "cheaper, faster and less stressful".

Dad accused of beating baby daughter in Coney Island
Police have arrested a teenage dad who is accused of beating his 16-month-old daughter into a coma on Father's Day. An EMS crew rushed Nylah to the hospital as Taylor chased after the baby's mother, continuing to beat her.

Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron said: "This slimmed down Queen's Speech shows a Government on the edge". Of 24 bills, eight relate to Brexit and its implications for key industries.

Technology was also a recurring theme in the speech, which comes after formal Brexit negotiations kicked off in Brussels this week.

There was also no mention of May's controversial promise to allow a parliamentary vote to repeal a ban on fox hunting, which angered left-wingers. The Commons Speaker and Black Rod were alongside the pair, and they, along with the Prime Minister, bowed towards the Queen.

May's Downing Street office said nothing had changed: an invitation had been extended and accepted.

Adding: "We are focused on building capacity across the system to enable this, including through growing new multi academy trusts".

May's own position has been called into question ever since her decision to call a snap election.

Miami Uber Driver Fined for Not Speaking English
Uber spokesman Javi Correoso told NBC Miami that the Miami-Dade ordinance is "vague and hard to enforce". Correoso said that the memorandum rule for the county is "very vague and hard to enforce".

Alternatively, the Conservatives could try and form another government and win a confidence vote. Instead, she lost seats and still hasn't secured a deal with another party to insure Parliament will back the government's agenda. A DUP source said a deal was "certainly not imminent" as the talks "haven't proceeded in a way that the DUP would have expected" and cautioned that the party "can't be taken for granted".

The Queen's Speech featured several references for the tech industry to chew over, including promises of a new United Kingdom data protection law and digital charter. Both ceremonies take weeks of preparation and planning, and it was deemed too hard to prepare for two such events so close together.

The speech was initially planned for Monday but was postponed because of the turmoil following the election.

The Queen's Speech in 2013 made no mention of South Korean President Park Geun-hye's state visit.

Britain voted to leave the European Union in a referendum past year but there is growing opposition to the government's "hard Brexit" approach of cutting immigration at the expense of trade ties.
