No offer received for Real Madrid's Ronaldo, boss says


The 32-year-old signed a new contract with Real Madrid until 2021 last November and has a release clause of one billion euros ($1.11 billion).

Some sources say that Cristiano Ronaldo is angry with the club because they didn't defend him: "I'm not here to defend him".

He is accused of evading tax to the value of 14.7m euros (£13m; $16m) between 2011 and 2014.

"As no other candidature was put forward to the board ... it is proclaimed that Mr Florentino Perez Rodríguez is president of Real Madrid", the Spanish and European champions said in a statement.

The Spanish media have claimed the Real Madrid star must be in the courtroom in Pozuelo at 11am local time for the beginning of the case.

For all the words written and spoken about the four-time Champions League victor, the only people who really know are Ronaldo himself and long-time adviser Jorge Mendes.
