S Korea's Moon urges North Korea to return detainees swiftly

In a statement, US President Donald Trump offered his condolences to the family of Otto Warmbier on his passing and condemned the "brutality" of North Korea. Otto Warmbier was arrested on charges of subversion by North Korea past year, while he was touring the country, for allegedly trying to steal a propaganda banner from his hotel room.

Warmbier's family released a statement, saying "Unfortunately, the terrible, torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today".

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday said North Korea should swiftly return South Koreans and Americans detained in the reclusive nation and that it had "a heavy responsibility" in the death of a USA university student.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Warmbier's death: "touches the American heart like no other". "Surrounded by his loving family, Otto died today at 2:20pm", a statement from the family said.

And finally, it says that when he arrived in Cincinnati June 13 he was unable to speak, see, react to verbal commands and looked very uncomfortable, they say nearly anguished. People can live in a state of unresponsive wakefulness for many years with the chances of recovery depending on the extent of the brain injury.

Cristiano Ronaldo is now on worldwide duty, playing in the Confederations Cup for Portugal. Something very odd will have to happen for him to go.

Warmbier, a one-time high school football player and homecoming king, was travelling in Beijing in December 2015 when he signed up for a five-day tour of North Korea with a Chinese company. His family said it was told he had been a coma since soon after his March 2016 sentencing. Doctors caring for him last week described him as having extensive brain damage that left him in a state of "unresponsive wakefulness."Moon said that while "we can not know for sure that North Korea killed Mr. Warmbier".

Otto Warmbier, a US citizen who was freed last week after more than a year in North Korean detention, has died. "He looked very uncomfortable-almost anguished", Warmbier's parents wrote.

"It has escalated to brutalizing Americans, including three other citizens now imprisoned in North Korea", he said.

The University of Virginia student was held for more than 17 months. But at least we got him home to be with his parents.

Warmbier died in OH on Monday, days after being released by North Korea.

London highrise fire: Police say 79 people are dead or missing
Numerous families that were affected lost more than one relative, said Cdr Cundy, adding that his "heart went out to them". Suspicions have grown that flammable materials were used to clad the building and accelerated the spread of the fire.

Warmbier was detained at the Pyongyang airport in January 2016, charged with a "hostile act" against the country's authoritarian government and convicted less than two months later of trying to steal a propaganda poster.

Warmbier died at a Cincinnati hospital just days after North Korea released him from captivity in a coma, his family said.

North Korea is also holding Canadian pastor Hyeon Soo Lim.

CORNISH: Yet the North Korean regime apparently kept secret for more than a year that Otto was in a coma.

The U.S. Department of State warns against travel to North Korea. The tour group is no longer taking visitors from the USA to North Korea.
