Ronaldo's not leaving us: Real Madrid president Perez

Ronaldo was a world-record signing of intent from United after Perez returned as president eight years ago, the forward being part of a £225million summer spending spree that also saw the likes of Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso move to Real. "No offer has been received for him".

Ronaldo was livid over being singled out for disproportionate treatment after the Spanish prosecutors accused him of defrauding the authorities of €14.7m (£12.8m).

The current Manchester United manager left Spain in 2013 to rejoin Chelsea.

His thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo potentially leaving Real Madrid have caught the headlines.

Real insisted they were "absolutely convinced" Ronaldo would prove his innocence and pledged him the club's "full confidence".

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says that the situation surrounding Cristian Ronaldo's future is "very strange".

Portuguese sports daily A Bola had also claimed that Perez had already been informed of the 32-year-old's decision.

Perez said Real "have not received any offers for Cristiano, Morata or James as some media have stated", adding: "Our priority is to keep our current core of players, and that is why we are not going to make any movements".

Does Ronaldo really want to leave Real, or is he angling after a better deal?

"We will continue to work on this project without falling into the trap of complacency, putting more emphasis on youth", he said.
