Iran strikes Islamic State targets in Syria in response to parliament attack

According to reports, a large number of Takfiri terrorists were killed and their facilities, systems and weapons were destroyed in Iran missile attacks.

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps on Sunday said it launched missiles into Syria targeting Islamic State militants in retaliation for the June 7 Tehran attack in which 18 people died.

"And, of course, we need to see this in the wider geopolitical context: it will be very interesting what the reaction is going to be from countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United States and Israel, because Iran is saying it can retaliate and it will". The IRGC statement said that the strikes targeted the terrorist group's gathering centers and bomb-making factories. "Obviously and clearly, some reactionary countries of the region, especially Saudi Arabia, had announced that they are trying to bring insecurity into Iran".

In Syria, Iran backs Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his fight against anti-government rebel groups and ISIS, which is primarily based in the Syrian city of Raqqa.

Kohli, Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Make ICC Champions Trophy Team
New Zealanders have failed to make the Champions Trophy tournament cricket eleven, although Kane Williamson was named 12th man . India captain Virat Kohli could do little more than praise an opponent who did everything right on the day, reported the ICC.

Saudi Arabia has far more sophisticated firepower than ISIS or the MEK to hit back at Iran from a long distance; and the U.S. and Israel each have even greater firepower than the Saudis to rain down on Iran if attacked by missiles. The missiles flew over Iraq before striking what the Guard called an Islamic State command center and suicide auto bomb operation in Deir el-Zour, according to Tehran.

The guard said that they fired missiles on "a command base. of the terrorists in Deir Ezzor", (another name for the Deir Az Zor province).

"The missile launches from the two Sunni-majority provinces at headquarters of Daesh terrorists carry the massage of unity of all Iranians in the face of terrorists", Sharif added.

Iran had earlier insinuated that the U.S. and Saudi Arabia - its chief regional foe - had encouraged the June 7 attacks on Iran's Parliament and the mausoleum of the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, killing 17 people.

Man Utd boss Mourinho accused of Spanish tax fraud
Messi and his father, Jorge, were found guilty on three counts of defrauding the tax department to the tune of about £3.5million. A prosecutor says he did not declare income from the use of his image rights in order to get an "illicit benefit".

Last week, Iran accused the USA and its regional ally Saudi Arabia of supporting and aiding those attacks.

Last week the Senate voted 98-2 to pass new Iran sanctions targeting 1st, Iran's ballistic missile program and 2nd, the IRGC [a].

Also, past conduct suggests that Iran's missile strike, even as it shocked most of the world, is predictable behavior and may even have been understated.

Activists in Syria said they had no immediate information on damage or casualties from the strikes. The missiles flew over 500 miles over Iraqi territory, and are the first mid-range projectiles launched by Iran since its war with Iraq, which ended in 1988.
