Donald Trump says no one has any proof on Russian Federation

Even though Trump was told by former FBI Director James Comey earlier this year that he was not personally under investigation, officials tell the Post that changed shortly after Comey's firing. In a series of tweets on Friday morning the president confirmed that he was being investigated for firing James Comey on May 9th.

It was not clear whether the president was basing his tweet on direct knowledge, or on reports this week that special counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether he obstructed justice by firing Mr Comey last month amid the Russian Federation investigation.

Significantly, Preet Bharara, the India-born former top U.S. federal prosecutor, earlier this week had said that there was enough evidence to begin an obstruction of justice case against Trump over his alleged interference in the Russian Federation probe.

Senior US intelligence officials have agreed to be interviewed by investigators working for Robert Mueller, a respected former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief, according to reports in both The Washington Post and New York Times.

Aside for Mueller, Feinstein also noted how Trump previously received a memo from Rosenstein, containing the Deputy Attorney General's recommendation ahead of the Comey firing.

Trump later told NBC's Lester Holt he had planned to fire Comey regardless of what recommendation he received from Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who has recused himself from the Russian Federation investigation.
