Cosby alternate juror 'probably' would have voted to convict

Prosecutors vowed to retry him, and O'Neill said he would hear the case within four months.

After the verdict, the Montgomery County DA's Office quickly put out word there would be a retrial.

Andrew Wyatt raises his fist as Bill Cosby exits the Montgomery County Courthouse after a mistrial was declared in Norristown, Pa., Saturday, June 17, 2017. I'm proud to have been able to represent Mr. Cosby.

"I am eternally grateful for the messages I have received in recent days", Andrea Constand said in a tweet Tuesday. "Every time a question came in that seemed detrimental [to Cosby], I thought a guilty verdict was coming", she says. Constand did not appear at the news conference.

Mr Macron's party has filled the political space created by the disarray within the Socialists and the Republicans. While at one point analysts suggested her National Front party might win as many as 50 seats, it took only eight.

It has become increasingly common for judges to keep juror names secret during high-profile trials, though not after the case has ended, said Paula Hannaford-Agor, who studies juries for the nonprofit National Center for State Courts. It is not yet clear why jurors could not reach a verdict, or how close they came.

He said one of the most damning pieces of evidence against the man once known as "America's Dad" was the phone call between him and accuser Andrea Constand's mum, Gianna.

"We got to try our case", Steele said.

District Attorney Keven Steele asked a judge Monday to block the release of the names.

"Too often these types of crimes, sexual assaults, do not get reported, especially cases where a drug has been used in a drug-facilitated sexual assault", Steele said.

Prosecutors, who intend to retry Cosby, filed a motion on Monday urging O'Neill to refrain from identifying the jurors, arguing that widespread coverage of their deliberations could influence jurors for the retrial.

"It was ridiculously creepy", McCloskey said on the radio station, according to Philly.com. The jurors did not mention anything about the deadlock again until Saturday when they announced they were "hopelessly deadlocked" and that the deadlock could not be resolved by additional deliberations. For the prosecution, a second trial provides the opportunity to present a battle-tested key witness. Cosby says it was consensual. Media companies are seeking the names. Constand claimed Cosby placed her on a couch, touched her breasts, forced her to touch his penis and performed digital penetration all without her consent. Ultimately, they chose to bring just one witness - Det. Also, while legal observers made much over how the prosecutors were allowed to introduce Cosby's deposition from his civil lawsuit with Constand - specifically, where he admitted to getting a prescription for Quaaludes to give to women - the defense team ultimately counted it as a factor favorable to a brief defense case. But O'Neill said as long as the jury wished to deliberate he would allow them to do so. Cosby's criminal defense lawyer, Brian McMonagle, however, is confident in his client's chances of beating the charges.
