Approval rating for President Trump at lowest since inauguration, CBS poll says

The president's approval rating, which has proved historically bad since he took office, has sunk again.

"The drop in the President's approval rating is partially due to ebbing support among Republicans", CBS notes. The previous low for Trump was 39 percent in February. At the moment, 72 percent of Republicans approve of Trump's performance, down 11 percentage points since April.

Crude oil futures ripples down with weak trend

The poll also found that an overwhelming majority of Americans believe the testimony of former FBI Director James Comey over Trump when it comes to the Russian investigation. Just 28 percent of respondents approved of the way he's handled the probe, according to CBS, while 63 percent disapprove. However, 56 percent of Americans think Mueller will be impartial, and 81 percent polled don't think the president should stop Mueller's investigation. Fifty-seven percent now disapprove.

Real Clear Politics average of major polls, which includes the latest results from Rasmussen Reports, shows 40 percent approve of the job President Trump is doing compared to 53 percent who disapprove.

Other recent surveys haven't brought good news for Trump either.

CBS found Trump's approval ratings have been hurt by his reaction to the multiple investigations of Russian interference in last year's presidential election, which he repeatedly has described as a "witch hunt" and an excuse by Democrats to explain former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton's stunning upset loss to him.

Now the transfer gods have smiled down on the Premier League once again, with Alves set to join Man City for absolutely nothing. They won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues titles together during their four seasons together at Camp Nou.

This is the first time the president's overall approval rating has reached the 50 percent mark since late April.
