Trump Tweets He IS Under Investigation; His Attorney Says He Isn't

According to the Washington Post report, Trump was being investigated for possible obstruction of justice by Robert Mueller - the special counsel appointed to investigate Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

Jay Sekulow said the tweet was not a confirmation of the investigation, but instead a response to a report in The Washington Post.

The contradictory messages came after Trump first answered - and seemingly confirmed - reports that he is personally under scrutiny for potential obstruction of justice, tweeting on Friday: "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"

Last week, Trump sent a tweet referring to being the victim of a "witch hunt".

The allegation arose after former FBI director James Comey testified that Trump had asked him to drop an investigation a couple of times into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

There was a 7-footer at No. 1, but he really got his round jumpstarted with a almost 35-foot bomb for birdie at the eighth. Three birdies in a row on the back nine saw Brooks Koepka break away to clinch his maiden major title at the US Open .

"This was his response, via Twitter, via social media, in response to the Washington Post piece with five anonymous sources", Sekulow added.

"So his legal team and the president responds", Sekulow said on NBC. But by the time he issued his final report in 1998, he had not only shifted his focus to whether Bill Clinton had perjured himself in testifying about hanky-panky with a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, he had also investigated everything from Vince Foster's suicide to the firing of White House travel office personnel, the improper handling of Federal Bureau of Investigation files, and a wide variety of the Clintons' business activities before Bill became president.

The president has denied that he has any nefarious ties to Russian Federation and has also disputed that he's attempted to block the investigation into his campaign's possible role in Russia's election-related hacking.

Asked if Trump's social media commentary may be created to intimidate Rosenstein or Mueller, Senator Marco Rubio said "I have no basis to make a decision on what his intent is" but added that the tweets "in no way" will impede the work of the investigation.

"I think it's in the best interest of our country that we have a full-scale investigation that looks at everything, so that we can move forward", said Sen. He maintained that the president's actions won't prevent any of the investigations from proceeding, and that getting to the bottom of what happened would benefit all involved, including President Trump. Earlier in the week, Trump announced he's under suspicion.

Ronaldo had not been bad at all; he created one goal and was involved in another and also hit the bar in the first half. Cameroon threatened at the other end with Ngadjui's well-angled header ruled out for offside.

Sekulow stressed repeatedly that Trump is not under investigation.

Trump insists his campaign had nothing to do with Russian efforts to undermine credibility in the US election.

Trump advisers describe the president as increasingly angry over the investigation, yelling at television sets carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy.

Sen. Marco Rubio says it's best for the country to let the FBI's investigation into Russian Federation meddling in the 2016 presidential election take its course, and the Florida Republican tells CNN's "State of the Union" that's what he'd advise President Donald Trump.

But the President is yet to heed that advice, tweeting on Sunday: "The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt". Angus King, an independent from ME, stressed that the probe will likely last for a long time.

President Trump told his followers everything was "very well" despite the "witch hunt". The president "wants people to say that", he said.
