Three arrested in connection with London Bridge terror attack

A second named suspect, 30-year-old Rachid Redouane, claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan.

Dozens of people gathered in driving rain at the end of London Bridge, where a growing mound of flowers sits beside a police cordon.

A terror suspect was "dragged" from a house by armed police and a gym where one of the terrorists worked out was searched as detectives investigating the London Bridge attack continued to focus on east London.

"I would urge anyone with information about these men, their movements in the days and hours before the attack and the places they frequented to come forward", Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said in Monday's statement.

"A search of the address is ongoing".

Rome: The third man suspected of carrying out Saturday's deadly attack in central London was an Italian-Morrocan who was arrested a year ago on suspicion of trying to reach Syria.

She told L'Espresso in Bologna: "We have always been checking his friendships and verifying that he was not trusting the wrong people, but he had the internet and from there he got everything".

The Italian reports said Zaghba was intercepted at the Bologna airport past year as he was about to board a plane for Turkey, apparently with the intention of joining Islamic State militants in Syria. "I am not surprised that Khuram Butt carried out the terrorist attack and there are serious questions for the authorities", he said in a statement to The Guardian.

Police have said Redouane was not known to security services.

Xavier Thomas, 45, is thought to have been struck by the terrorists' van on the bridge and witnesses reported him being thrown into the water. Both lived in East London.

London police said all 12 people held since the attack late Saturday from the Barking neighborhood in the east of the city have been freed without charge.

Zaghba was "not a police or MI5 subject of interest", it added. He changed, she said, when he went to Britain about a year ago and was seduced by radical views propagated on the internet.

Theresa May said a review had been launched after the Manchester bombing last month and she expected the same process following Saturday's rampage.

Butt, 27, embraced radical Islam during his time in London and was once filmed in a documentary called "The Jihadis Next Door".

Closed circuit TV footage, which appeared online and in British media, showed the attackers - Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba - cornering a victim and starting to stab him before police are seen arriving and opening fire.
