Strong Storms Possible Monday

Strong Storms Possible Monday

While every storm will produce lightning and heavy, the strongest could include wind gusts exceeding 50-60 miles per hour, and small hail. Today is warmer and still humid with highs in the upper 80s, and with daytime heating, there may be a shower or t-storm in spots later in the afternoon and evening. But, redevelopment of storms is already occurring in eastern Oklahoma, and so addition rain and storms will be possible in parts of Northwest Arkansas, and especially in the River Valley, by this afternoon.

A cold front approaches our area later Tuesday - bringing more widespread showers and storms Monday and Tuesday afternoons and evenings.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, warmer and humid.

Stay weather aware Monday. That front will stall to our east and start to wash out along the coast by Tuesday, so a shower or storm will still be possible. We should be into the mid-80s by lunchtime with highs to near 90°. Highs will gradually cool back down in the 80s next weekend with high confidence that next Sunday will be dry.

This morning, we will be dry and muggy with temperatures hovering in the mid 70s.

"As we get into the afternoon, though, by 12:30 (or) 1:30, something like that, a few more cells starting to pepper the area", Moss said.
