Someone in California Bought the Winning $448 Million Powerball Ticket

Marietta Liquor and Deli, the Sun City liquor store where a winning Powerball ticket was recently sold.

The winning numbers were 20, 26, 32, 38 and 58.

The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing has grown to an estimated $435 million, the eighth-largest in Powerball history. The jackpot is the 10th largest jackpot in American lottery history, according to the L.A. Times. No one had matched all winning numbers since April 1. The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Saturday's estimated $447.8-million jackpot, the seventh largest in Powerball history, beat out the $435.3 million won by a ticket buyer in IN in a February 22 drawing, after a late surge in ticket buying.

Saturday night's jackpot - $447 million - was the 10th biggest ever.

Lottery site USAMega.com estimates the federal tax withholding on a lump sum would be somewhere north of $68 million, and state taxes could knock out up to another $24.1 million (with NY the worst offender). Both prize amounts would be before taxes are deducted.

Alberre said Sunday he has not received much information about the bonus the store will receive and doesn't know what his family will do with the $1 million that officials have said is set aside for the store that sold the winning ticket.
