Real Madrid ready to pay Ronaldo's tax bill for him to stay

According to the Times, Manchester United are 'exploring the viability of buying the 32-year-old back.' United had sold Ronaldo to Real at £80 million eight years ago.

CR7, as he is fondly called, is ready to quit Real Madrid this summer after tax evasion charges were allegedly leveled against him by the Spanish tax office.

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, is pinning for a return to Manchester United.

After watching the Paul Pogba saga drag on last summer boss Jose Mourinho is keen to get as many of his summer targets in through the door before the end of the July and has already made significant progress with a number of deals.

The Juventus left-back could arrive in a club-record £55m deal as an upgrade for Marcos Alonso at left wing-back, while Monaco midfielder Bakayoko, a long-term transfer target, could move for around £40m.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Ronaldo has asked agent Jorge Mendes to do "everything" to secure a return to United should he leave Madrid ahead of the 2017/18 campaign. The player did not talk to reporters in Kazan.

If they return another former player in CR7 this summer, or if it's PSG, or maybe even a big club in China with deep pockets, whoever it is, they will be paying an amount that greatly eclipses the Pogba fee.
