Real Madrid changing Cristiano Ronaldo's mind over exit will be hard - Calderon

A source claims the Portugal global "feels great indignation" with the speculation about his tax affairs and and a sense of "injustice" at the allegations - which he contests - and has made a decision to leave Spain.

The one thing that might stop Ronaldo from signing for Manchester United would be the current manager Jose Mourinho, who reportedly did not get along with the multiple-time Ballon d'Or victor during their time at Real Madrid. The 32-year-old was said to be "undergoing treatment" for an unspecified injury which kept him from facing the media in Russian Federation.

According to Eurosport, Real Madrid could settle for a transfer payment of around $150 million.

PSG want Cristiano Ronaldo while his priority is Manchester United
There is no doubt that Ronaldo is a supremely fit athlete, but his age indicates that he is entering the twilight of his career. In just 265 games for Real Madrid Ronaldo has scored 285 goals , winning three Champions League finals in four seasons.

Ronaldo's representatives Gestifute have denied the accusation, while Madrid have said they are "absolutely convinced that our player Cristiano Ronaldo will prove his total innocence in this process".

The 32-year-old wants to leave Real and has already informed his decision to his current employers.

And of course, in annual fashion, this instantly threw up links with a return to Manchester United to work under his former boss José Mourinho ahead of the Portuguese's second season in charge, which unsurprisingly left vast amounts of supporters sceptical. I'm sure he's innocent. "I think our good communication has led to good results". "At this moment, he wants to leave". As a president you can't do anything other than let him go and get the best deal possible.

There are very few clubs who would be able to afford Ronaldo's transfer fee and his wages.

James Robson of the Manchester Evening News claims that Woodward has a shortlist of "fantasy" signings, including one of Ronaldo's teammates.

As one of the most marketable players in the world, Ronaldo's potential availability would generate much interest, but only the very richest clubs in the world would be able to afford him. He loved the club, the fans, the city and I don't rule out a move back. I don't see him playing in China or the Middle East.

Manchester was also recently hit by a devastating attack when a bomber killed more than 20 people at an Ariana Grande concert. Following the incident, near Finsbury Park Mosque in Seven Sisters Road, the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
