Golfer Harman leads US Open going into final day

Thomas' 9-under 63 also broke Johnny Miller's U.S. Open record for low round in relation to par. Vijay Singh was the last player to accomplish the feat in 2003 at Olympia Fields.

And the prime beneficiary was Thomas, who catapulted up the leaderboard with his record-breaking nine-under-par 63.

Miller shot his eight-under 63 in the final round en route to victory in the 1973 U.S. Open at Oakmont, and he will be more impressed if Thomas, or anyone else in contention, can put together a 63 on Sunday.

"This is bad, but I was thinking, if I make this, I birdie the last three, I shoot 62, all-time major record, and I can get that one down there, so that kind of ruined that".

Koepka is playing with Tommy Fleetwood, one group ahead of Harman and Justin Thomas.

Harman, who had begun the day in a four-way tie for the lead, carded a five-under-par 67 which included six birdies and one bogey. Thomas rolled in an 18-footer that went right to left from the edge of the green.

We still need to do more to stabilize climate change
We really can save the world while making the vast majority of Americans financially better off with this simple policy. Former US Vice President Al Gore says that Trump is damaging "humanity's ability to solve the climate crisis".

In fact, that's 15 more than the top 18 players on the leaderboard going into the weekend. Mickelson has won every major but the U.S. Open.

Kite shot even-par 72 in gusty winds in 1992 at Pebble Beach, winning by two strokes over Jeff Sluman.

Barnes had a six-shot lead at the turn until he hit only three fairways on the nine and missed a 4-foot par putt on the 18th for a 70. Smiles are rare at a U.S. Open when a player finishes before the leaders tee off.

China's Li Haotong dropped four shots in his opening four holes, with a double-bogey and two bogeys. That's been the case all week at Erin Hills. Former U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson shot a 71, though he was still seven shots behind. Though always risky, he entered Round 3 at 2-under par. At that point, he was leading by seven shots.

Russian Federation wins 2-0 in Confed Cup
The win puts them top of Group A, with Mexico and Portugal - the other two teams in the section - due to face off on Sunday. It wasn't long before Russian Federation had the lead, and it came courtesy of an own goal by Michael Boxall.

Tom Kite knows a little something about hard conditions for the final round of the U.S. Open.

There were 18 rounds in the 60s, starting with one for the record book.

But that's not all that makes the possibilities so limitless Saturday.

One shot back at seven under are Justin Thomas (14), Marc Leishman (10), Brendan Steele (10), Hideki Matsuyama (9), Xander Schauffele (7) and Rickie Fowler (6).

Now consider that the largest 36-hole comeback in U.S. Open history was 11 shots by Lou Graham in 1975.

Morgan shot 77 and, remarkably, still had the lead at 4-under 212.
