Five Potential Vegas Victims Through Expansion Draft — Louis Blues

Courtesy of the National Hockey League, the lists of protected and unprotected players from all 30 teams outside of Vegas are available.

McPhee seems ready to let the games - and negotiations - begin.

After months of speculation, the list of players who will be protected for the upcoming expansion draft to the Vegas Golden Knights was officially released on Sunday.

The Vegas Golden Knights will select their expansion team on Wednesday, June 21st at 7 p.m. CST on NBC, during the 2017 NHL Awards. He'll also want to see what other options might be out there on June 25, so signing with the Golden Knights wouldn't make much sense - at least not yet. "We expect to put a good, entertaining club on the ice".

Here's who's available from the @AnaheimDucks.

While De Haan likely won't stand out on the stat sheet in a insane way; the market for young, responsible defensemen is slim, and the Golden Knights would be remiss to pass up on him. The 2017-18 salary cap is $75 million, an increase of about 2.75 percent over last season.

Potent Pakistan claim fairytale Champions Trophy title
Team India will now have to chase down the second highest score in the history of Champions Trophy in order to defend their title. India got their man finally thanks to a fine catch by Jadeja running back from point after a skewed big hit at Hardik Pandya.

Boston: Speculation was that it would Colin Miller, not Kevan Miller, who would be protected by the Bruins. As for defensemen, Buffalo's Zach Bogosian and Dallas' Dan Hamhuis are available. Each team can only lose one player. He could be the second player in league history to play for 11 teams if he's taken in the expansion draft.

For the Stars, the protection list has its obvious inclusions. How can we protect your roster? Petr Mrazek (Red Wings) had an off year but is still just 25. The signing of Jujhar Khaira seems to have been exclusively for the purposes of exposing him.

The Florida Panthers made an interesting decision as they decided not to protect Jonathan Marchessault, who scored 30 goals for them past year, and instead protected Nick Bjugstad. It was a necessary evil, however, in order to keep the blueline together.

Other notable forwards left unprotected were: Minnesota center Eric Staal, a nine-time 20-goal-scorer, Los Angeles forward Dustin Brown and Montreal's Tomas Plekanec. Unless there's a deal in place, that's incredibly unlikely.

For 72 hours, Vegas Golden Knights general manager George McPhee is the most powerful man in hockey. "We're talking to unrestricted free agents, we're talking to restricted free agents, and we continue to talk to teams". As it turns out, the biggest news was that the list was exactly as predicted. If it happens, it happens, and then you make the most of that situation.

"I'm really pleased with what's available", McPhee said Sunday. If true, this is going to be an expensive, but necessary play for the Ducks.

UK to double length of next Parliament to deal with Brexit
Brexit secretary David Davis will travel to the Belgian capital for talks with the EU's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier. Sinn Fein have warned that any deal with the DUP could wreck the Northern Ireland peace process.

Patrice Bergeron: Bergeron has a no-movement clause, but it would also be a waste of time for me to tell you why he's worth protecting if you're the Bruins. They will try to sign top free agents.

But now, Marc-Andre Fleury has some company on that list. At 25, he could be a Top Six forward with the Knights, carrying a team friendly cap hit of just $640,000 USA before his deal runs out in 2018.

St. Louis: Magnus Paajarvi excelled under coach Mike Yeo with the Blues, but not enough for St. Louis to protect the speedy forward.

McPhee was excited to discover the cache of quality players to choose from.

The future is bright for the Maple Leafs, however. One has to figure the most likely selections are Alexey Marchenko or Martin Marincin.

Washington: No surprises here. "You sure you don't want to take three or four or five of ours?"
