Donald Trump insists no 'proof' on 'collusion' with Russian Federation in 2016 election

If Mueller is investigating Trump's firing of Comey as possible obstruction of justice, he might want to learn about Trump's interactions with Rosenstein, the Justice Department official who wrote the memo criticizing Comey's performance before his firing.

It wasn't immediately clear to whom Trump was referring to in his comment "the man who told me to fire" Comey.

It was confirmed by the White House that Mueller was among the candidates who Trump interviewed to replace Comey.

In a tweet earlier Friday, Trump said nobody has been able to show any proof about his collusion with Moscow after months of investigations.

US President Donald Trump announced he is under investigation and appeared to attack a senior Department of Justice official Friday, as the federal investigation consuming his administration gathered pace.

But Portugal's Ricardo Quaresma scored the opener on 34 minutes before Javier Hernandez equalised with a low header for Mexico . Russian Federation beat New Zealand 2-0 in the other Group A fixture, while Chile beat Cameroon 2-0 in the opening Group B tie.

The Times points out that Trump's tweet came hours after an "oddly worded" statement by Rosenstein about leaks.

The investigation over possible obstruction of justice just adds to the scandal involving the president, with Donald Trump and his supporters claiming that he is a victim of a "witch hunt" created by his opponents and the so-called "fake news" media.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported on June 16 that the general counsel's office of Trump's transition team has ordered staff to preserve all materials relating to Russian Federation or Ukraine, including any possible travel documents.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" the president tweeted.

Trump's tweet comes on the heels of a vague statement on the investigation from Rosenstein, released late on Thursday, and the spate of exclusive stories about the latest developments.

But since the company has not said a thing regarding these plans, all we have now are rumors, leaks and speculations. The rumors are conflicting on the situation, though both mid-August or early September sound completely manageable.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is also under investigation as a member of the Trump campaign, leading Sessions to recuse himself from the case and allowing Rosenstein to appoint Mueller to head the investigation, reports Fox News.

One person Trump has said nothing but glowing things about is former nat sec adviser Michael Flynn, who is largely the reason the president is in this mess in the first place. Trump continues to deny wrongdoing, but Americans may be losing faith, according to a new Associated Press poll.

Robert Mueller, the man chosen to take over the inquest as special investigator, had started investigating into president Trump's behaviour. He testified that, about three months before his firing, Trump pressed him to drop the investigation of Flynn by saying he hoped Comey could let it go.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said she is concerned that Trump might try to fire both Rosenstein and Mueller.

Concerns that Trump may have tried to obstruct justice are based partly on testimony from Comey before a Senate panel on June 8.
