Champions Trophy: Eoin Morgan says no home advantage for beaten England

New Delhi London [U.K.], June 15: Eoin Morgan's comment on Cardiff pitch, post England's defeat in the Champions Trophy semi-finals, seems to have not gone down well with Pakistan legendary bowler Waqar Younis as he slammed the England skipper for making a lame excuse.

"One thing we didn't do was adapt to conditions; coming from Edgbaston to a used wicket, Pakistan did that well and played better", Morgan said during the post-match presentations.

"Once that ball started reversing, credit to Pakistan, they put it in very good areas and made it very hard to build new partnerships once we lost a couple of wickets". "It's a big frustration because I think we've played some great cricket in this tournament so far, and we weren't anywhere close to it today".

He went on to say, "We all know what happens and what not, and I can't tell you how they have won the games, I can't name them".

India captain Virat Kohli: Pakistan completely outplayed us in Champions Trophy final
This made it hard to counter his approach during the Champions Trophy final , at The Oval , in London , on Sunday. But the more consistent you get in learning from games like this, it s better for the team in the future.

He said: "One of the huge contributing factors towards topping our table and playing very good cricket in the group stages is that we've stayed true to what we believe in and what's worked for us the last couple of years, and I think that's the continued formula for the future".

Pakistan will now face title-holders India in Sunday's final at the Oval if their arch-rivals beat Bangladesh in today's second semi-final at Edgbaston.

But the real damage was done when England collapsed to 211 all out after Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss on a used pitch that played more like a sub-continental surface than a British one.

"I think it was [the best]", he added.

'We are building up to that World Cup, ' said Bayliss in the aftermath of their eight-wicket thrashing in Cardiff. Set just 212 for victory, Pakistan finished on 215 for two, with Azhar Ali (76) and Fakhar Zaman (57) sharing an opening partnership of 118. Whenever he comes, he gets wickets. The win has helped them to go to the Finals.

Chasing a paltry score of 212, Pakistan crossed the line for the loss of two wickets and 12.5 overs to spare. If we play good cricket, definitely we will win this tournament.

Fakhar has been especially important in helping give Pakistan the rapid starts that have previously eluded them.

Pakistan, the lowest-ranked side in the tournament, lost heavily to India in their opening match but victories over South Africa and Sri Lanka sent them into the last four.

Why history says Theresa May should go
Former Treasury chief George Osborne - who was sacked by May past year - called her a "dead woman walking". But in United Kingdom elections this result does not automatically trigger another election.

Abbas also heavily criticised the English team for blaming the Cardiff pitch for their defeat to Pakistan in the semi-finals.
